Generally these marketing efforts are very effective and are inexpensive. By adding a simple 300 to 500 word ad copy and a logo or other company graphic, you can reach a huge market audience. You don’t have to do any extensive work; however you should make sure that your ad is eye catching and effectively gets the pertinent information across regarding just what it is that you have to sell. Typically ezines are already going to a preselected audience so you need not worry about relevance. It is one of the most inexpensive ways to market online.

Ezines have different types of advertising. Many of them only allow or use one ad per issue. If this is the case and you choose to post your ad-you’ve got a completely captive audience. One other way to help bolster your advertising efforts with newsletters is if you are the sponsored advertisement. This shows readers that the trusted publisher has faith in you and is urging them to use you services if they should need said services in the future.

A really great way to get the attention of the readers of the ezine newsletter is to attach a coupon for your goods or services to your advertisement. These days, no one can resist a bargain. Even if someone is not prepared to partake of your services or purchase your goods right now, if they are a frequent reader of the periodical, there’s a good chance that your advertisement will pique their interest and bring them to your site.

Make sure you’ve got a well constructed site and you’ll turn the traffic into dollar signs. By driving those who are already interested in a closely related subject matter that is pertinent to your business, you will be increasing your value and establishing yourself as a trusted and reliable entity.

One great way to use this inexpensive marketing effort to your advantage is to add an information capturing page to your site. You can create a page just for obtaining information from those who visit the site because they saw your advertisement in the newsletter. This will not only be a great gauge of how effective the ezine advertising is but you can also create your own mailing list from the information.

By suing a niche market, you are tapping into a demographic that already has an interest in what you offer. You are going to target people that are most likely to use what you are selling and it will give you the greasiest chance of making money through them.

Banner ads are long ads that are embedded into the web page the potential customer is looking at. Usually these are done through affiliates that make money by clicks from them to you. These ads are usually eye catching, since it is the first glimpse at your business.

Pup up ads are another common method, and these ads open in a new window and can allow customers to see your web page itself or grab contact information from them. They may also be pop under ads, which open under the page they’re viewing and have the added advantage of being able to be seen more since they can look at them after they have finished on the page they started on before looking at your ad.

Before you buy, look at the cost per click (CPC) or cost per thousand impressions (CPM). CPC pays just for the clicks that are made on your advertisement, while you pay a set amount per visitors even if they don’t click at all. Both have advantages, and you will want to decide which will work to your benefit. A CPM can be highly useful if a site gets thousands of visitors a day, since you will get a percentage of those looking at your site.

You can also look at booking your own advertising at smaller sites. Often, they can be bought on a monthly or weekly basis, no matter the clicks. Be sure to ask how many visitors they get on a day and per week and month, so you know what to offer for the space. You can also contact search engines and purchase CPC through them and target it for specific keywords, so your ad will only show when they type it in. This is an especially useful to target a very specific market or keyword.

You can also find a company to do this for you. There are some that specialize in this type of banner and pop up advertising and can create the images that will be eye catching and will do the work of getting them placed for you. Many times, they also know of the niche markets that are getting many views, and so can get them placed in heavily trafficked sites. You will want to check companies that offer more then just this type of ad work, since you may be able to stumble in on a form of advertising you haven’t thought of and it can allow you better options if you plan on branching into more types.

Online media buying can be a fantastic way to increase the traffic and visitors to your own website and can be very affordable. It is a way to grab attention, and by using niche markets you have a better chance for success with a market that is predisposed to your services.

Wait…why’s that a big deal? Simply because they’re not building a list in the process which could be the biggest key to getting paid. After all if you promote an affiliate link and don’t make the sale, how can you ever get that person to take a second look? You can’t, until now…
